About Us 

Farmer+Smith's managing director is Paul Bauernschmidt ("bear-n-schmidt").  He is a native Delawarean and a graduate of Brandywine High School. 

Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in Public Administration from Wilmington University. 

He created Farmer+Smith PR, LLC in 2007 after nearly a decade working within the Delaware Department of State

Paul coaches soccer for the city of Newark Department of Parks and Recreation and baseball for Newark American Little League.  

Paul volunteers with Greyhound Pets of America-Delaware and is a puppy raiser for The Seeing Eye.  He is also a proud Turtle at the Fairfield-Fairfield Crest Swim Club.   

Paul is the author of the book Delaware's Parks and Gardens: A History through Photographs Old and New.  It is available through Cedar Tree Books. 

Paul served as the project director and contributing author for the City of Newark's 250th anniversary history book - Histories of Newark: 1758-2008.  

Paul's newest book, America's Past-time in the First State: Little League Baseball in Delaware is available now through Cedar Tree Books.
